Concept
After a few years of working in 2 dimensions for various tech and data related projects, I wanted to use these themes to create a brand video for a fictional data delivery company called Dataratr The neon boxes in the video give it a bit of an 80's feel, so I paired the 3D imagery with some 80's-inspired titles and music.
Challenges
Seamless transitions were an important part of the project, so each scene had to be crafted to blend from the previous. Modeling the satellite dish and goggles also required a great deal of precision in order to get a level of realism. Finally, the mountain scene had to contain several layers of materials in order to give enough variation to the ground.
